the web site for the "President's Own" USMC band is posted in this thread; the niteline program last night confirmed what the website states:
The members do NOT attend boot camp or any type of basic training
The musicians interviewed during the program aired last night stated that they were taught by other members of the band in how to wear their uniforms and in other aspects of being a "Marine."
There are other USMC 'bands' whose members are Marines; these members attend boot camp/basic training and are 'combat' ready. The band profiled on last night's Nightline program are NOT one of these bands.
