I've never had a student with this problem. I teach my students to make the wind machine a simple-motion thing. Syllable "HOE" to intake and "TOE" to blow. No stopping the wind from in to out. Practice away from the instrument. It must be a comfortable feeling. If you want to practice containment, inhale and hold with the diaphragm. As it opposes the expiratory muscles, you can hold air in your lungs without closing the tongue or glottis!!!
