Even better: if you get the velves out, soak them overnight in a cup of white vinegar. Better than a chem clean. If you've never broken down a rotary valve, I'd suggest finding someone (perhaps in the Ithaca studio) that has and get them to show you how to do it and then re-assemble it. It's really easy once you know how, but you'll get it better if you're shown.
