Many of us were gathered on the M.I.T. lawn and had a wonderful and exciting time. The Boston Pops played pleasing stuff, (rock on, whoever the tubist was) a little girl sang a wonderful rendition of the Pledge, and the fireworks following 1812 (what else) was stunning. As a first-time guest to the Pops (formerly a frequent attender of the downtown Chicago shows) I went away proud and thankful for the great spectacle Boston put on. Many of us had flown in for a wedding at Harvard, and so this was icing on the ole wedding cake.

Besides, for this tuba guy, just sitting under the shadow of MIT's dome made me feel smarter, somehow :o)
