We know that this topic is immensely complex and that the general consensus (gc) is that; none of the people who posted thought that Wagner's music should not be played. In addition to attempting to answer the question "why play Wagner?", several beautiful arguments have been made for an extremely wide array of topics which were all interesting including yours I'm sure.
