That is the same way I bought my 20K. A school had it sitting on the shelf, and was only offered $100 on trade, so I offered the same and it was given to me. The check was made to the school's Band Boosters. This was a small, rural district without much money and in great need of new instruments - not just tubas - and the "donation" at least aided in this end. It needed some, I mean A LOT, of polishing to return to a silver color, and a chemical bath and some braces repaired, and it has its share of dents, but it plays well and has character.
