I know many people who have been pleased with the results of using a non-slip rug pad. You can buy a roll of this stuff at Home Depot for less than $10, I think. You can purchase a roll, cut off what you need, and share with your friends! When I've done it I've used a piece approx. 10" x 18" and put it on my left thigh.
