Well, I could be wrong here, but many of the discussions of cutting down horns have to deal with finding an old BBb, like an old york 6/4 BBb with really good thick brass, and cutting it down to a CC to get something close to Jake's yorks. You wsould really only cut a BB to get something that you could not buy in CC. You really don't see many people taking a miraphone 186 BBb and cutting it to a CC, that would be silly.
