The literature out there that really calls for a 6/4 can be played on a BBb with no problems. Perhaps even easier in the low register stuff, where the advantages of CC are pretty much gone - I'd rather play a low E Eb, or D on a (good) BBb horn any day.

Besides, much (perhaps most?) of the European "BAT" lit was premiered on BBb contrabass.
