Well, even though you may be able to sing in tune, hearing the tuba is a hard thing. Not only is it lower pitched, but it's mellow, so it's very hard to listen to. I had a hard time being able to hear if I'm out of tune from others or even during tuning within the band or orchestra. Just keep working on it and the more you keep playing tuba and listening to yourself, you'll get better at it.
