We have some SS-51D mouthpieces in stock (Are you still stopping by?) and that is about the most stupid-*ss recommendation for a trombone mouthpiece (PARTICULARLY for marching band) that anyone could possibly concoct.

1/ It's a euphonium mouthpiece, not a trombone mouthpiece - designed to offer a tuba-like sound with almost NO brilliance.

2/ NO BRILLIANCE...Why have trombones?

3/ If one is to use the wrong mouthpiece that effectively muffles the sound of an instrument - AND IN THE MEANTIME ONE IS EXERTING AT LEAST 50% OF THEIR ENERGY TO MARCHING - uhh, why have a marching band?

Joe "Get a 6-1/2AL, fill in the '6-1/2AL' stamping with epoxy, paint over that area with silver paint, and stamp '51D' on the side with a metal stamp set from ENCO (cheap). The director is an ignoramus." S.
