I have read the first 3 responses and would not disagree with anything said. The groups I play in don't seem to get to the level of working on details such as intonation, blend, dynamics, etc. One of the groups has been around for years and nothing is going to change it. It seems like more of a "let's get the right notes" and the rest of it is ok. We have some very good musicians in our group. We are very good but It seems to me we have the potential to be really great. I'll just keep doing my best.

The speed of sound is 1,108 ft. per second. Can 16 feet make a difference or be detectible? I'm just still curious if this theory is correct. Maybe it's sort of one of those psychological things? If you're a fraction of a second ahead of the beat it sounds "on time".
