If I remember correctly, Meister Nirschl discontinued his line of tubas because he was hired as the overseer of the new Besson 995 C tuba. Other sources have said he's earning a lot more money working for Besson than he did creating his own horns. We'll have to wait and see if the new 995 can live up to what its predecessor was.
