Most CC horns I've blown on have had even more insanely out-of-tune 1+2 combinations that BBb. Since I'm primarily on CC now, when I go back to BBb now and then, I habitually use the third valve all the time, probably never using 1+2. Since I never play the BBb in an ensemble anymore, I can get away with this ;-)
To SHS: third valve all they way man!
