Playing position depends on 1. horn being used, 2. size of the player, and 3. personal preference.
No matter the case, you should strive for upright and natural posture. Feet flat on the floor, square hips, square shoulders, and straight back. If a horn prevents you from sitting up straight and comfortably reaching the leadpipe, then it's time to consider a modification of your horn or a different horn altogether.
Of course, there are plenty of deviation from what would be considered "good" with playing positions.
