my eye doctor and i have had many discussions about this, but playing the tuba has made me go severely nearsighted in my left eye. i played for hours a day, almost 6 days a week for 7 years and the bell of my horn blocked my left eye and made it focus at about 4 inches from my face while my right eye focused on music and the director. my right eye is almost perfect and my left is pretty bad off. weird i know.
