DG not "tuba friendly"? I beg to differ a bit sir. Many NYP recordings come to mind, then again that is Warren! Also CSO w/mostly Boulez(Bartok,Stravinsky...) and Levine(Proko 5,Holst....) recordings, Gene "and" Floyd(Bartok) pop out nicely. And then there are some great BSO recordings on DG and Chester sounds great. One that comes to mind is the Franck in D minor, very tasty and clean playing.

Just one guys opinion. Please don't shoot/flame the messenger :)
