I just started working from the Allan Vizzuti trumpet method, and am very impressed. It has great exercises to build proficiency and chops. If you add H.W. Tyrell's 40 Progressive Studies for Trombone and the Rochut Melodious Etudes for Trombone, it may be what you are looking for.
