Ive got an old york 3 valve from about 1917. It is huge and what a sound. Ive thought about selling it or trying to find a 4 valve set for it. Ive also got a Conn 28j that I put a 4 valve set on. It is not as big as the grand orchestral but bigger than a 4/4 , maybe 9/8 or 17/16, it has a 22 inch bell and is a wonderfull horn. Ive played several BIG WHOLETONES {holtons} and thought they were great but I have never played a cut one that I liked. I guess everybody likes to cut one every now and then but lots of times they stink.
