Having played the tuba for all of two years in high school 20+ years ago, I'm no expert and never claimed to be, that's why I posted on tubanet for help. Thought it was pretty cool there's an entire network of tuba players and enthusiasts.
I've never heard of Mr. Jacob's, the comment in my UPDATE post you're referring too was from the tuba specialist at the TubaExchange. I'm sorry if it was incorrect or misleading... that's one for the lesson books... "don't quote an expert, they're only human too and can make mistakes". It's a comment not a sales pitch!
