Here goes...

A German bariton is the same as a U.S. and English euphonium. A German tenor horn is a cylindrical/conical bore horn that is the same as the English baritone. There is no equivalent U.S. horn. The small bore horns that most people call baritones are usually small bore euphoniums. Although, is is possible that the way in which the tubing widens may vary considerably. The German alto horn is the same as the English tenor horn. There is no equivalent horn in the U.S., except in brass bands, in which the English designation is used. With regard to the Kaiser euphoniums (oval) most have a smaller bore then the larger euphoniums (Willson, Besson, etc...) Furthermore, the ones that I have played on(an Alexander and a Miraphone) have terrible intonation and a stuffy sound. How the tubing widens is going to vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Hope this helps,

Mike
