I think the 6th is the best one from Lopez-Cobos/Cinncy. The 8th is very fast. It's also the Nowak edition, if you care about such things (Nowak vs. Haas). It has the same level of clarity and punch, but the 6th just comes off better for some reason. A really awesome 8th, in my book, is the new Franz Welser-Most/Gustav Mahler Jugend Orchestra (youth orchestra) one on EMI. I've heard TONS of B8's, and I just like this one the best - probably because I can hear so much of the inner workings of the piece, and because I really like W-M's pacing of the work. Just one person's opinion.
