When I first met my teacher (TC) he had just moved to town
and played a Bobo-style 184 CC (triggers for both slides,
5th valve on the left hand) I asked him why he had a clothespin
on the bell and he took it off....then asked me if it belonged there.
It did....wierd, huh? Well, anyway, the 184 BBflat I bought a couple
of years later developed the same thing after a couple of years.
BUT on my horn it was intermittent, sometimes it was edgy from that bell
and sometimes it wasn't. Then the "problem" went away...wierd, huh?
Try a clothespin....move it around a bit and see what you think.
