 my sousaphone in its previous life! <br>
I bought it from a clown/juggler/ventrilloquist who was NOT a <br>
specialist musician, (he could play less than a handful of notes on the horn) <br>
but it didn't matter, with such an action-packed act. He was glad for the <br>
horn to go to a good home (mine) where it would be lovingly restored and <br>
used as a musical instrument, rather than as the ultimate clown prop. <br>

THE HORN<br>

3 valve Eb sousaphone. On the back of the bell flare is written:<br>

KING made by the H.N. White Co. Cleveland Ohio<br>

is in "quotes" .... and then the...Serial No: 337669 (which is also on each piston)

Someone told me American makers like King made **E flat**
sousaphones principally for the British military market, given that
B flat instruments dominate military banding in the States. Either
way, Eb sousas seem pretty darn rare, so I snaffled it up (VERY
cheaply) and have had a bit of work done on it, (the condition
was fair... whew, it's had a tough life out in Clown-land)... with
more work to come. I use it quite extensively - street bands and
other crazy ventures.
I had a flight case made, I had to for festival trips etc., with the
ker-azy bands, and to have somewhere SAFE to put it at pubs and
other venues.
