Are you sure it is lacquered? The photo with the ad shows a silver plated tuba. I saw this tuba as well and was suspicious that the photo didn't appear to match the description. I suppose the silver plate could be lacquered but this seems unlikely. Aren't these tubas in the $7000.00 to $8000.00 range new? My experiences on eBay have taught me that if the seller is asking an unbelievably low price for an item, it probably is worth what he's asking. $4000.00 seems fairly cheap to me for a Nirschl 4/4 tuba with 5 valves, especially when you toss in the gig bag and $100.00 mouthpiece...
