The MW Model 198 is the 5 valve version of the Model 197. It is a Kaiser BBb. It is huge - about 50 inches. It also has an enormous sound. Suitable for a large ensemble but not a small one.

Its design dates to pre- World War II. The current design was taken from a instrument for in the rubble of WW II.

I was playing one when I came to a realization that the bass lines in some of the German Militry marches were written for just such an instrument.
