I talked to Peter Hirsbrunner himself about this a week or so ago. His cases that come with the horn are very sturdy, but alone are not enough to fly. He recommended putting a pillow at the bell end of the horn which will 1) give additional padding between the bell and the shell of the case 2) make the horn fit snugly inside the case so it doesn't slide or shift. He says he's done this plenty of times with no damage. Another friend of mine recently flew his new F to and from Canada with no damage either.

Now, if you're going to be flying to and fro frequently, then the Walt Johnson case is the way to go. I have one for my F and it performs like a champ.
