Every silver tuba that I have ever owned was a worry, due to the fact that unsoldering for dent removal meant ruining the silver, and any customizing was three times as tough, because I would always try to consider how to preserve the expensive finish while altering the instrument.

The price is high, probably $2G's. Why not go ahead and buy the tuba (if you really like it), live with it for awhile, and possibly eventually "get over" the desire for plating? If you DON'T "get over it", in the meantime you can have all dents removed, slides shortened/lengthened, levers repositioned to your liking, hotdog gimmicks added, etc., prior to making all of that SO much more difficult by coating the instrument with an expensive all-at-once finish...

...and not at all meant to be a.r., but spraying a coat of clear lacquer or a clear epoxy on an instrument is called "lacquering". Electrically coating an instrument with a metal, such as silver, is called "plating".
