Don't get me wrong, playing with Silent Brass is not exactly like playing the open horn. It is fairly heavy to balance, and I found that certain notes were stuffy/out of tune, and dealing with the wires is a pain, but when you consider the alternative (not practicing at all because of disturbing a baby's nap...etc.), I think it is great!

I have personally found that playing with the Silent Brass is a little more work than playing open, but on the plus side, when you take it out, you'd be suprised how easy it is to play the horn! ;-)

By the way, I have discovered that by simply adjusting the angle of the cone that sticks down the bell, you can help the intonation problems.
