It takes about 20 minutes to practice circular breathing well enough to hold that d seamlessly in mahler 1. also Matt Good in dallas uses it (rarely) because he is not a large man (at all) and needs help with his lung capacity. The thought behind don harry's bach makes sense i suppose. But it seems unfortunate to spend much of any time on it when there are som other more inportant aspects of tuba playing will never be perfect and deserve every second of practice they can get. So don't bother with it. please.
