I have a VMI 3301 along with several other BBbs. The 3301 is not special in the sense your are referring to. It is a fine horn, with well centered pitch. It serves best in a small ensemble. For the the larger ensembles, I get out Big Bertha, my Willson 3100. BTW, the WW&BW has the 3301 on sale for $3695. Better get one fast.
