Speaking of the cuts from BBb to CC and 6/4 v. 4/4, what are the differences between a 6/4 and 4/4? Are they only the larger bow, bell and flare? I have a Nirschl 4/4 CC which has the best response and intonation of any horn I have ever played (including Hirsbrunners), but want a slightly bigger 6/4 sound. Would I be best suited to simply change the bell/bow section (back to where the valve set attaches) rather than buy a new, bigger horn?
I would appreciate any advice or experience in this area.
