Check out the June 2000 archives of this BBS for a thread entitled "6/4 tuba: Hirs vs. MW vs. PT-7 vs...etc?". There was a very lengthy discussion about the various 6/4 tubas out there right now that might answer many of your questions. However, the short answer is that you need to go out and play these tubas yourself and find the one(s) that works for you. Good luck!
