hi-
an old teacher of mine once said practice until you can play one note perfectly. well easier said then done and by the time you have come close 45 minutes have passed. teh length of time you practice should be determined by what kind of music you plan to perform. if you want to be an orchestral player then 60 - 90 minute sessions are required if you are just doing band or contemporary work shorter sessions work just find. the important thing to remember is to set up a routine and be consistent.

as to warming up... well, some people take as long as and hour to warm up and some take 5 minutes. all that it means is that you're comfortable and that your muscle in your embouchure are loose and ready to go.

Good luck!
