I would like to say, that although I play CC tuba, I really do not overly dig the tuba version of the Arbans book. I mean, everything is great in the front, all the technical exercises and the slurs, and scales. BUT, first of all, the charactaristic studies are not the original pieces, and leave certain lines out (I guess to make phrasing on a tuba easier), and also, the solos are not there. Because of this, I feel that it is important as a tuba player to own copies of different Arbans books. I have the Tuba, the Trombone, and the Trumpet, and owning the different versions allows you to see different perspectives, and allows you to get the complete effect of Mr. Arbans teachings.

Thanks,
J
