When it comes to which tuba is great and which one isn't, that's something you need to go try for yourself. When I asked that question last year, everyone was talking about the new Meinl Weston 2000 Series. I went to Dillon Music to try it, and I really didn't like it. The same was true of the Wilson CC and the other Meinl Westons. I ended up liking the Yamaha 822, the Yamaha 862 (I think that's the rotary model), and a Miraphone 188-5u. You just need to go try out as many different models as you can, and then decide on what you like. Hope this helps
