It's an easy trip, really (approx 45 min). From Bern, you will purchase a ticket to Sumiswald-Grünen via Burgdorf and Ramsei. You will change trains in Burgdorf, then go through a handful of small towns before you arrive in Sumiswald. The destination on the schedule in Burgdorf train station will have "Huttwil" (I believe it is on track 22). Don't let this confuse you, it does go through Sumiswald. Once in Sumiswald, it's about a 5-10 minute walk to the factory or a short taxi ride up the hill.

The best time to go is in the morning. Trains run on a daily schedule so you can catch return trips usually about 20 minutes after each hour. It's a really scenic trip. Also, be sure to drink the Ramseier apple juice (if you like apple juice), as you will go through the town where it is made (Ramsei). It is, in my opinion, the best apple juice in the world. And, of course, Hirsbrunner has some of the best tubas in the world. Peter is a great host!

Bon voyage!
