I've been using a King 2341 as my main BBb for the past few years. They do have a very nice sound. The springs in the King 2341 do take a little getting used to, but I would hesitate to put a softer spring in. In fast passages you will be glad for the quick response of the valves, especially once your fingers get used to the action. And, they do become a bit less stiff with time.
