In REAL emergencies, I have sprayed stuff like that down the slide tubes of French horns and on to their rotors to free them. There is another product - comes with a brown and yellow label ("Rust Eater" ??) that works a little better than WD on rotor emergencies.

After the Rust Eater or WD has allowed the rotors to turn, I chase it with woodwind key oil (thicker than valve oil) and "work" the rotors, and finally thin it out with regular valve oil. This can make (at least a French horn) that is all frozen up work "pretty good" (for a little while) without the very time consuming disassembly and cleaning...NOT a very good substitute, however, for doing it "right".
