When cleaning a rotary valve tuba with the bath or shower method, must the valves be dissasembled? Knowing rotary valves are tricky to reassemble correctly, I would prefer to leave them in the horn and reapply oil and grease after the bath.

If you take your horn to the local car wash, wouldn't the spray velocity be too great; or would you be able to control the nozzel so it doesn't dent the horn? I would love to try this myself just to see everyone's faces behind me waiting for their turn as I apply the wax!
