You don't say what kind of tuba you played in Oklahoma, but most of the .75"-bore rotary BBb tubas I've played, such as the VMI 2103, are on the small side of 4/4. They have a noticeably lighter sound than the larger 4/4 instruments out there. In fact, they are noticeably smaller than my Miraphone 186 BBb, which seems to me the definition of "4/4." And the 321 is big for a top-action tuba, but not that big compared to full-size rotary tubas. Try some horns out before you decide you need an earth-mover.
