Definetly check out Indiana University (Bloomington) .the tuba studio is very big (20+) and the level is very high. The school of music is also one of the very big names in the country.
The tuba teacher there is Daniel Perantoni..he is a really good and very experienced teacher,has many very successful students,he kicks ass on the tuba,too.He's still a very active performer,and plays in lessons,too.
The tuition and living expense for IU/Bloomington is pretty cheap,too.
