I have done some experimenting with the 4AL and the SM4 and have personally found the SM4 to have a much more resonant sound. This after experimenting on a Hirsbrunner and a Besson 967 with two SM4's and two 4AL's. I suggest trying the SM4. Also, if you play a willson, the Bowman BB1 seems to fit that horn very well.
