Out of all of them, the Walter recording intriques me most. I know Bell was the tuba player, but who was in the bone section? This must have been pre- VanHaney and Pulis. How is the horn solo? I can almost assure you that the technicians of the era had Walter speed the tempo up to fit it on the disk. Can you check the pitch? If it is a half step higher, they sped the tape up, probably cut a couple of minutes off the recording. This was done to a Berlin/Karajan Schuman Konzertstucke for 4 Horns. It ended up being almost in G and was REALLY fast. Sorry to ramble, my interest is piqued. Thanks!!!
