I always thought this would be a great research project for someone, contact longtime Jacobs students (of all instruments) and take a poll of what material he had them use. It would be interesting to see what patterns there are.

As far as myself, Pottag 1&2, Tyrell, Rouchut (yes I used it), Blazavich, Arban, and various solos and orchestral excerpts.

When we went on the road, we brought Arban, Rouchut and the Schlossberg (boy did I nail the spelling!) trumpet book. He had favorite excercises out of these.

OK, here it is, who wants to do the study - got to be good for a thesis somewhere. Now with everyone on the net, this is the time to do it.
