Switching to CC tuba can be done in two ways: I just learned the new fingering system, or just assigned new note names to the notes I already new. What I started out doing, and I hada students switch this way, is to read whole notes, or long tones. What you are really doing is attatching different name to what you know, so while you are holding that note, be thinking what you want to call it. Say you are playing a low BBb. Hold down the first valve, play the note, and think...BbBbBbBbBbBbBbBbBbBbBbBb. This can easily be done in your warm up. then move on to the Getchel first book of practical studies. mostly quarter and and half note stuff. A week of doing this, you'll be a pro at it.
The other way, is to actually transpose it. Read down one step. or think of it as playing trumpet. Open notes C and G. Good luck
