Start of Revelation (Philip Wilby): Pedal D on BBb Bass , completely solo and marked ppp. Try playing that on a downbeat!
Jazz (Philip Wilby): Loads of solo EEb Bass passages.
English Heritage (George Lloyd): One of the better known EEb solos, very lyrical.
All these are probably made worse by the fact that we only seem to play them in competitions, where tensions are high already!
