Lots of good advice here. My 2¢: jump in the deep end. You just got the horn, the summer just started, forget there ever were BBb tubas. I switched the summer after my senior year. I got a new etude book, wrote the fingerings in for the 1st etude (only) and never looked back. I took a lesson the next week and it was (for the most part ; ) behind me.

BTW, euph. students go thru this in switching from treble to bass clef. In my teaching experience, the deep-end-of-the-pool method was consistently the most rapid and lasting way to effect the change.

I'd bet that by the end of the summer (and maybe the end of June!!) you'll be telling us all how easy CC tuba is! Good luck!
