Hey, I've never heard an Alexander sound, either, but I talked to Mark Finley about it and I can almost imagine it... he described it as being powerful, majestic, and just plain deep. It's the kind of sound that makes you want to play tuba, apparently... like I said, I've never heard it... but the way that I imagine it is like the sound doesn't just come from the instrument, but from the walls in the room that the horn is being played in, and in my opinion, any instrument that can do that is on my Christmas list... heh.
