I had a 2165 I bought from Jeff Funderburk. It had the old valve set and the tone ring in the bell, but it still sounded and played great. I had Matt Goode play it when I lived in Texas and he said it was the best 2165 he ever played next to Warren Decks. All registers were consistent and smooth with no stuffyness and no intonation problems. I had to sell it to move me and my family for a new job in upstate New York. AAGH! Oh well, the new job was worth it, but I do miss that horn.
